"DON"T LOOK AT THE SUN!" Chances are you've heard this warning at some point in your life, and with good reason. The moment you begin looking at the sun you start developing a sunburn -photokeratitis- on your eyeball. OUCH! But have you ever looked up at the sun on a cloudy day? Partially concealed by 'Cumulus and Friends,' you can actually stand to look at the sun for a few moments and see its perfect disk shape. Pretty cool. 1 COR 13:12 says - "For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known." On this side of eternity, the only way we can see God and His ways is partially, dimly, incompletely. Just like our sensitive eyes looking at the sun, our fallen humanity is too weak to stand the fullness of His presence. And yet, He gives us the grace and the blessing to continually grow in Him. But, oh, that day when our eyes are finally opened, when the light of heaven removes all clouds and darkness that hide the face of God from us, and we see Him face to face and know Him fully!!
